Guangdong sets August export record
|
|
EXPORTS valued at US$13 billion were shipped from China's Guandong Province in August.
According to Guangdong customs, August was also the second straight month the province had broken its export record.
Import and exports figures amounted to $24.1 billion in August, a rise of 22 per cent over the same month last year
For the first eight months of the year, total import and export trade amounted to $172.84 billion, an increase of 25.7 per cent compared to the same period last year. The figure also represents 33 per cent of China's total import and export trade over the period.
From January to August, the province's total exports were valued at $91.66 billion, an increase of 25 per cent; and imports $81.18 billion, a rise of 26.4 per cent.
The trade surplus for the first eight months was $10.48 billion.
Customs added that private companies exported goods valued at $6.15 billion, an increase of 170 per cent.
